This is a patient who had advanced periodontal disease on the bicuspid, the tooth with the crown. There was extensive bone loss on the tooth from periodontal disease, as can be seen on the x-ray to the left. The tooth was extracted and at that time, the extraction socket was grafted. Four months later the bone regenerated and an implant was placed and later restored with a crown, as seen on the x-ray to the right.
